A Message from Fr. Liam – Parish Easter Message
My Dear JORS Parishioners,
Before anything else, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a Blessed and Joyful Easter!
Christ has Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia! Let us Rejoice! Alleluia! Alleluia!
As we celebrate as a Church the Resurrection of our Blessed Lord, I am very thankful and proud to be a part of this parish family which takes its name after The Lord Jesus himself, Our Risen Savior. He has Risen indeed because since the very beginning, Our Lord has always kept his promise, keeps his promise and will continue to keep his promise to humanity until the end of time!
His Resurrection implies New Life for each one of us. As we celebrate every single year this great Solemnity, we must realize that he is leading us to a deeper relationship with Him. To have a deeper relationship means to see ourselves progress in our own spiritual journey towards God. This journey allows us to strive to become holy witnesses of his love and mercy. Let us never lose that desire of becoming holy, even when at times we may fail, falter and sin.
The Christian life we live manifests itself in the world because it infuses hope, where there is hopelessness, love when there is hatred and resentment, light when there is darkness and new life when there is not only death, but also the loss of moral principles and values. As Christians, we are always called to make his loving presence known in the world. No matter the difficulties, struggles and hardships life may bring to us, the life He constantly and consistently gives us allows us to persevere and remain faithful in our quest for holiness and new life in Christ Our Risen Lord.
Not only has the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ brought us new life, but through his grace, it has also breathed new life into our parish.
We may start with the registration of new parishioners. For the last few months, I have been blessed to speak with families whom we have welcomed during our Sunday Eucharistic Celebrations, and they decided to join our parish because they found a home with us and a sense of belongingness. We welcome them not only with our southern hospitality, but also with the love of God that is found in Christ Jesus.
The Four Fridays Lenten Fish Fry has also been a sign of new life. We were able to raise $9,000.00 for the Adorno Fathers missions through your generosity and support. As I have extended my gratitude to the Knights of Columbus, their families, and our volunteers in my previous message, I would like to extend to them once again and to all of you a huge THANK YOU! You not only have brought joy to your parish priests and parishioners, but also to non-parishioners who came to support us to enjoy delicious food and our camaraderie.
The renovation of our APR Roof has finally been completed. After discovering new leaks that have not only affected the APR but also the public restrooms, our parish mission store and our accounting office, the Parish Finance Council, the coordinator of our Parish Building and Grounds and I have decided to move forward with the project. The Diocese of Charleston gave us the permission to pay the roofing company $70,000.00 after presenting to them the quotes and other necessary documents.
The date for our Ministry Fair is set to be on the weekend of April 22 and 23. I am looking forward to seeing you after all the Masses that weekend. As I have mentioned, this Ministry Fair will give you the opportunity to share your time and talent with the rest of our parish family and to be of service to our community. I would like you to please pray over this so you will be able to discern how you can be of service to our brothers and sisters.
Our Parish Annual Feast will be on the 13th of May. The success of our Parish Annual Feast will depend on your active participation. We plan to have an international food festival that represents the different nationalities present in our parish. We will be needing more volunteers to help out, especially those who are willing to contribute to the feast by preparing foods from your own region and culture. The meeting for all those who will be preparing the food will be on the 10th of April (Easter Monday). I hope to see you at the meeting.

Queridos feligreses de la JORS
Antes que nada, me gustaría desearos a vosotros y a vuestros seres queridos una Feliz y Bendita Pascua.
¡Cristo ha Resucitado! ¡Aleluya! ¡Aleluya! ¡Alegrémonos! ¡Aleluya! ¡Aleluya!
Al celebrar como Iglesia la Resurrección de nuestro Bendito Señor, me siento muy agradecido y orgulloso de formar parte de esta familia parroquial que toma su nombre del propio Señor Jesús, Nuestro Salvador Resucitado. Ha Resucitado porque desde el principio, Nuestro Señor siempre ha mantenido su promesa, mantiene su promesa y continuará manteniendo su promesa a la humanidad ¡hasta el final de los tiempos!
Su Resurrección implica una Nueva Vida para cada uno de nosotros. Al celebrar cada año esta gran Solemnidad, debemos darnos cuenta de que nos lleva a una relación más profunda con Él. Tener una relación más profunda significa vernos progresar en nuestro propio camino espiritual hacia Dios. Este camino nos permite esforzarnos por llegar a ser santos testigos de su amor y de su misericordia. No perdamos nunca ese deseo de ser santos, aunque a veces fallemos, vacilemos y pequemos.
La vida cristiana que vivimos se manifiesta en el mundo porque infunde esperanza donde hay desesperanza, amor cuando hay odio y resentimiento, luz cuando hay oscuridad y vida nueva cuando no sólo hay muerte, sino también pérdida de principios y valores morales. Como cristianos, siempre estamos llamados a dar a conocer su presencia amorosa en el mundo. No importan las dificultades, luchas y penurias que la vida pueda depararnos, la vida que Él nos da constante y consistentemente nos permite perseverar y permanecer fieles en nuestra búsqueda de la santidad y la vida nueva en Cristo, Nuestro Señor Resucitado.
La Resurrección de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo no sólo nos ha traído nueva vida, sino que, por su gracia, también ha insuflado nueva vida a nuestra parroquia.
Podemos empezar con la inscripción de nuevos feligreses. Durante los últimos meses, he tenido la bendición de hablar con familias a las que hemos dado la bienvenida durante nuestras celebraciones eucarísticas dominicales, y que decidieron unirse a nuestra parroquia porque encontraron un hogar con nosotros y un sentido de pertenencia. Les damos la bienvenida no sólo con nuestra hospitalidad sureña, sino también con el amor de Dios que se encuentra en Cristo Jesús.
El cuatro Viernes de Lenten Fish Fry también ha sido un signo de nueva vida. Pudimos recaudar $9,000.00 para las misiones de los Padres de Adorno gracias a su generosidad y apoyo. Como he extendido mi gratitud a los Caballeros de Colón, sus familias, y nuestros voluntarios en mi mensaje anterior, me gustaría extender a ellos una vez más y a todos ustedes un enorme ¡GRACIAS! Ustedes no sólo han traído alegría a sus párrocos y feligreses, sino también a los no feligreses que vinieron a apoyarnos para disfrutar de la deliciosa comida y nuestra camaradería.
La renovación de nuestro Techo APR finalmente ha sido completada. Después de descubrir nuevas goteras que no sólo han afectado a la APR, sino también a los baños públicos, nuestra tienda de la misión parroquial y nuestra oficina de contabilidad, el Consejo Parroquial de Finanzas, el coordinador de nuestro Edificio Parroquial y Grounds y yo hemos decidido seguir adelante con el proyecto. La Diócesis de Charleston nos dio el permiso para pagar a la compañía de techado $70,000.00 después de presentarles las cotizaciones y otros documentos necesarios.
La fecha para nuestra Feria Ministerial está fijada para el fin de semana del 22 y 23 de abril. Espero verlos después de todas las misas ese fin de semana. Como he mencionado, esta Feria de Ministerios les dará la oportunidad de compartir su tiempo y talento con el resto de nuestra familia parroquial y de estar al servicio de nuestra comunidad. Me gustaria que por favor oren sobre esto para que puedan discernir como pueden ser de servicio a nuestros hermanos y hermanas.
Nuestra Fiesta Anual Parroquial será el 13 de Mayo. El éxito de nuestra Fiesta Anual Parroquial dependerá de vuestra participación activa. Planeamos tener un festival de comida internacional que represente las diferentes nacionalidades presentes en nuestra parroquia. Necesitaremos más voluntarios para ayudar, especialmente aquellos que estén dispuestos a contribuir a la fiesta preparando comidas de su propia región y cultura. La reunión para todos los que prepararán la comida será el 10 de abril (lunes de Pascua). Espero veros en la reunión.
